Annual Meeting Saturday November 15, 2008 at 2:15 pm in the club work room. The Annual Meeting of the club, including election of officers, will take place in a couple of weeks instead of the regular Saturday work session. This will be the perfect time to catch up on what's happening, be a part of planning for the future, pay your 2009 dues or renew your membership, and let everyone know how you can pitch in to help make the TVMRR a successful model railroading club. Please consider taking on a leadership role as an officer or as a member at large of the executive committee. Bring a locomotive or a couple of cars to run on the layout after the meeting if you'd like. All are welcome.

Update on the Fairbanks Depot and Access to the Tanana Valley Model Railroad.
The Alaska Railroad has put the Fairbanks passenger depot into cool storage for the winter, with the buildingÊbeing well heated and staffed only for the weekly Saturday arrival and Sunday departure of the Aurora passenger train.Ê Because of this schedule, we only have access to the building and layout between 2 pm Saturday and 2 pm Sunday untilÊspring.Ê Given that a significant amount of scenery work on the Fairbanks section and the Healy/Nenana section must be completed betweenÊnow and March to meet the railroad's requirements, we will need to make efficient use of our time on the weekends and supplement it with preparatory work at home as best we can.

The Tanana Valley Model Railroad Open House will be held Saturday
January 30th durring The Alaska Railroad open house event at the railroad
depot in Fairbanks.
Railroad officials will be on hand to discuss capital
improvement plans around the state. The public will get a chance to
review proposals and offer public comments. The event is scheduled for
4 p.m. to 7 p.m., and the depot is located at 1745 Johansen Expressway.

The Tanana Valley Model Railroad Club Holiday Party will be held Saturday
January 26th upstairs at the Elks Club.
The menu is sort-of-potluck; the club will be purchasing six feet or so of
submarine sandwich. Last names A - H are asked to bring a side dish or
small main dish, I - Z a salad or dessert. If none of those choices works
for you, bring some pop or juice. To help us plan, please respond ASAP with whether or not you will be there,
and how many folks will be coming including you.
